Our villas are fully equipped with an electric range, oven, microwave, large refrigerator with ice maker, garbage disposal, and dishwasher.  Basic cooking utensils, dishes, and glassware are also furnished. All master baths have seperate showers and whirlpool tubs and every villa has a private deck to enjoy the beautiful Summerset sunsets!

Our resort units range from 1-5 bedrooms and are fully furnished. All units with kitchenettes are completely furnished with a 4-burner electric cook top, full-size refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker, pitcher, can opener, spatula, fry pan, 3 sauce pans, knives, forks & spoons, dishes, cups, & glassware, microwave oven, cable TV, and air conditioning/heating unit. A laundry facility and ice are available on property. Items not included are personal soap, beach towels, sharp knives, BBQ utensils, coffee and coffee filters.

Join us for the Great Bagnell Dam Duck Drop

The Great Bagnell Dam Duck Drop is back for another great year! There will be a charity golf tournament on Friday, July 31 with the duck drop and family fun zone on Saturday, August 1. What better way to end the summer than with a family fun weekend getaway at Lake of the Ozark? Summerset Inn Resort has all the details on this event you won't want to miss!

Golf Tournament


Calling all of our golf guests - this one-of-a-kind golf tournament is perfect for you! For the 3rd annual duck drop golf tournament, there will be a quacky "twist" this year. Crazy holes and fun obstacles will be placed around the course to test your game! Join us Friday, July 31 at The Cove golf course in Four Seasons. There will be an 8:30 shotgun start, a 4 person scramble with a ladies flight! Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Lake Area Big Brothers Big Sisters & Ozark Coast Kiwanis; both organizations help local children at the Lake! REGISTER HERE!

Duck Drop & Family Fun Zone


Calling all kids - the family fun zone will feature games, a dunking booth, bounce houses, martial arts and dance demonstrations, food and lost of prizes and goodies! The family fun zone opens at 10 am on Saturday, August 1 and the ducks start flying at noon. You can walk to the viewing area from the fun zone. The first duck to cross the finish line will win $5,000 and 7 additional ducks with win prizes too! You don't have to be present to win. All funds raised will remain local and be distributed to non-profits via the Ozark Coast Kiwanis Organization. We're celebrating our 7th year and the Great Bagnell Dam Duck Drop will be better than ever for 2015!

3 Recipes to Help You Celebrate National Grilling Month

July is National Grilling Month and Summerset Inn Resort is ready to help you celebrate! From burgers to kabobs to corn on the cob, there's just something about they way food tastes when it comes off the grill. Grilling is one of the best parts about vacationing at the Lake! The lakeside grilling area at our Lake of the Ozarks waterfront resort is the perfect place to cook up these delicious grill recipes:



Grilled Herb Shrimp

Ingredients: 
2 lbs Large Shrimp, peeled and deveined
3 cloves Garlic
1 medium Yellow Onion, small diced
1/4 cup Fresh Parsley, minced
1/4 cup Fresh Basil, minced
1 tsp Dry Mustard
2 tsp Dijon Mustard
2 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Pepper
1/4 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 Lemon, juiced
Skewers

Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl and allow them to marinade for 1 hour at room temperature.
2. Preheat the grill and brush lightly with olive oil to prevent shrimp from sticking.
3. Skewer the shrimp; 3-4 per 12-in skewer.
4. Grill the shrimp for only 1 1/2 minutes on each side.

Pineapple Chicken Kabobs 


Ingredients:
1 Green Bell Pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces
1/2 Onion, cut into 1-inch pieces
1/2 lb. Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast Halves, cut into 1-inch pieces
2 cups Fresh Pineapple, cut into cubes
1/4 cup BBQ Sauce
Olive Oil
6 Skewers

Directions: 
1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grate.
2. Alternate the green bell pepper, onion, chicken and pineapple on the skewers.
3. Brush with the BBQ sauce.
4. Cook on the grill until chicken is no longer pink in the center adn the juices run clear, roughtly 7-10 minutes per side.

Grilled Portobello Mushrooms

Ingredients: 
4 large Portobello Mushrooms
6 Tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1/4 cup Balsamic Vinegar
2 cloves Garlic, minced
3 medium sized Vine Ripened Tomatoes, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
8 oz. Fresh Water-Packed Mozzarella, drained, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
1/4 cup Fresh Basil Leaves, chopped
Salt and Pepper

Directions: 
1. Preheat the Grill to medium heat and lightly oil the grate.
2. Drizzle 3 table spoons of olive oil over both sides of the mushrooms and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
3. Grill mushrooms until they are heater through and tender, about 5 minutes per side.
4. Meanwhile, whisk the remaining olive oil with the balsamic vinegar and garlic in a medium bowl. Add the tomatoes, cheese and basil. Toss until mixture is coated. Season it with salt and pepper to taste.
5. Place the grilled mushrooms gill side up and spoon the tomato salad atop the mushrooms.
6. Place back on the grill for a couple minutes to let the cheese melt just slightly.

7 Famous Fathers and their Sons Throughout History

Summer is well underway and Father's Day Weekend is here! Sunday is a day to celebrate your father, all their accomplishments and what they have done for you as a role model in your life. While there are plenty of notable Father and Son duos, here are a few famous ones for you to think about as we kick off this Father's Day Weekend! What will you and your father be known for?

1. God and Jesus 


Probably one of the most well known father and son pair, at least for Christians, is God and Jesus. Most religions have some sort of father figure. Because Christianity is the world's largest religion by number of adherents, its father-son narrative is naturally the most globally culturally significant in human history. Their father and son relationship is possibly the most written about of all fathers and sons in human history given the extensive debates that have concerned them over the years.

2. King David and King Solomon


While most monarchies have sons that take the crown after their father, one of the most well-known pair of kings is David and Solomon. Their influence on Judaism and Christianity alike is what gives them their position as the most famous and influential kings in human history. David is a central figure in Jewish, Christian and Islamic doctrine and culture. He is revered as a great warrior and his son Solomon followed right in his footsteps. Both have been depicted in various forms of pop culture through the years.

3. John Adams and John Quincy Adams


When it comes to politics, a lot of sons admire to be as successful as their fathers. One of the most notable father and son politician combinations is John Adams and his son. America exists in part because of these two great men. John Adams was a lawyer and the first vice president of the United States. He moved on to become the second President, with his most significant accomplishment being making peace with Napoleonic France. The political career of his son, John Quincy Adams is almost as impressive. He was both a senator and a congressman. He was also the eighth United States Secretary of State and the sixth President. After his presidency, he successfully argued for the defendants in United States vs. The Amistad Africans in the Supreme Court. Their father and son work on modern notions of democracy and anti-slavery has benefited humanity and civilization profoundly.

4. Martin Luther King Sr. and Martin Luther King Jr. 


Martin Luther King Jr.'s influence on the Civil Rights Movement makes him one of the most iconic figures in American history. His father Martin Luther King Sr. was an American Baptist pastor, missionary and an early figure in the American Civil Rights Movement. He rose to become the head of the MAACP in Atlanta and the Civic and Political League. Martin Luther King Jr. soon became a popular civil rights activist himself. While Martin Luther King Jr. may be more well known than his father due to the "I Have a Dream" speech, both are credited for the amazing work they did to give African Americans greater rights.

5. Kirk Douglas and Michael Douglas


Many famous actors and actresses get their start because of their parents being in the business. While there are many notable actors, one pair that has a long term influence on the film industry is Kirk and Michael Douglas. Kirk's acting career spans over fifty years, giving him an AFI Life Achievement Award and three Academy Award nominations for best actor, in addition to other major award nominations. His son's career started in 1966 and he is still successful today. Michael Douglas has had over a dozen nominations and even wins for major acting awards. He too has accepted an AFI Life Achievement Award, making these two the only father and son to ever receive such an honor to that point in history.

6. Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Dale Earnhardt Jr. 


Dale Earnhardt Sr. was an American race car driver and team owner. He is known for his involvement in stock car racing for NASCAR and is known as one of the best drivers of all time. He won a total of 76 Winston Cup races over the course of his career including one Daytona 500 victory. Dale Earnhardt Jr. is continuing what his father started and has also been very successful in NASCAR. He is a two-time Daytona 500 winner and has won the Most Popular Driver Award twelve times now. Together, the Ernhardts have definitely made a name for themselves in the sports industry.

7. Julio Iglesias and Enrique Iglesias


The spanish singer Julio Iglesias has sold over 300 million records worldwide in fourteen languages. He realeased 80 albums and is the best selling Latin music artist in history. His son, Enrique, has also had a successful music career, as well as a career in modeling, acting and producing records. He is one of the biggest stars in Latin American and the Hispanic Market in the United States as the biggest seller of Spanish-language albums of the 1990s!
