The Lake of the Ozarks Air Show is this Weekend!!

The Lake of the Ozark Air Show is this weekend Saturday, September 21st!! This air show is an exciting event held at the Camdenton Memorial Airport that will salute our Military.   Spectators will be awed by the returning acts by Team Vortex Air Show, the Ping Pong Ball Drop, KC Flight Formation Team, and the Flash Fire Truck. Some of the new events will be a P-51 Mustang Fighter, TBM-3E Avenger Torpedo Bomber, AC-47 "Spooky" Gunship and the Erik Edgren Airshow.

Summerset Boat Lifts at the September Boat Show

The September Boat Show is this weekend! The weather forecast is predicting cooler temps and sunshine all weekend - so its the perfect time to get out and check out all the boating products and services the Lake Area has to offer.

Boat shows are a great opportunity to check out the new boat lines, PWCs, Lake of the Ozarks boat lifts, water toys and accessories.  Summerset Boat Lifts will be at the show ready to show you why our boat lifts are the right lift for your dock.  We specialize in lifts that are designed for the Lake of the Ozarks rough waters and we will help you find the perfect lift.

The September Boat show is presented by the Lake of the Ozarks Marine Dealers Association at Captain Ron's at the 34 1/2 MM.

Summerset Inn is the Place to stay for Lake Bikefest 2013!!

It won't be long before the Lake of the Ozarks will be flooded with motorcycle enthusiasts from all over the United States for the Annual Lake Bikefest.  This event has grown tremendously since it was first started 7 years ago - it is estimated that recent years have drawn approximately 10,000 people to the Lake area!!

7 Tips for Boating Fun on Labor Day Weekend

As we approach another BIG weekend at Lake of the Ozarks, we are noticing the increase in traffic on the streets, the longer lines at the grocery store and more check-ins at the BEST Family Friendly Resort at Lake of the Ozarks.  I can only imagine how busy the Lake waters will be this weekend!!  

With that said, we thought it would be a good time to pass along some great boating tips to help you have a fun holiday weekend.
  1. Protect your skin - be sure to use sunscreen, wear sunglasses and put on your favorite hat.  The last thing  you want to do is spend your weekend with a painful sunburn.  
  2. Drink plenty of water to help keep your body hydrated in the sun.
  3. Don't drink and operate any boat or water craft.
  4. Wear a life jacket - Last year in Missouri, 90% of people killed in a boating accident were not wearing a life jacket.
  5. Swim with friends - watch out for your friends and your friends can watch out for you!
  6. Educate yourself on Boating Laws - you can visit the Missouri Water Patrol website for more information.
  7. Understand the boat or PWC that you are using and make sure you have the proper equipment aboard.

Make-A-Wish PowerBoat Rides offer Smiles for Children!!!

This Thursday, August 22nd, will be one of the BEST events during the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout... The Make-a-Wish Foundations' Wishing on a Ride Event!!!   Race boat drivers donate their boats and time to offer children with life-threatening illnesses an opportunity to ride in the FAST boats!!!

The event will take place from noon – 4 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 22 at Captain Ron’s Dock No. 3. For more information, or to participate in the Wishing on a Ride event, call Tiffany Riemann at 573-368-1177.

Boat Lift Maintenance Tips to help You Keep Up with the Jones'!!

Keeping up with the Jones' can be exhausting... but when it comes to your boat lift, you can have the upper hand with this little tip!!

Your boat lift will perform better if you take the time to maintain it! The rough waters of Lake of the Ozarks can really take a toll on your boat lift, so maintenance along the way is the key to extending the life of your lift.  

 A bushing is on a wear point.  These are not designed to last forever.  By checking your lift to make certain that all pivot connections and bushings remain tight, you’ll extend the life of your boat lift tremendously!
