How to Throw a Spectacular Labor Day Weekend Bash

Labor Day Weekend is the last hurrah of the summer! Due to the 3-day weekend, it's a great time for a weekend getaway to the Lake of the Ozarks. Complete the weekend with a cookout and pool party. Nothing says goodbye summer like a outdoor bash with friends and family! Keep reading for a few tips to help you throw a spectacular get together this weekend!

1. Crank Up the Grill.

Nothing says end of summer party like a BBQ! Grab some burgers and brats to throw on the grill. Add some potato chips, cookies and watermelon to complete the meal. Keep it easy by asking everyone to bring something to share. Don't forget the paper plates and paper towels!

2. Quench Your Thirst.

Warm weather calls for plenty of ice cold drinks. Make sure to have enough bottled water to keep everyone hydrated at your party. If you have children at the event, grab something like Capri Suns that can easily be thrown in a cooler. Spiked ice teas and lemonades are a great addition for the adults at your Labor Day Bash!

3. Prepare Games & Activities.

Whether you're throwing a party for all ages or having an adult bash, everyone loves some exciting outdoor games. From corn hole and horseshoes to football and soccer, be sure to have some activities to keep everyone entertained. Something as simple as a deck of cards can also provide hours of entertainment.

4. Cool Off in the Pool.

If you have a pool or are staying at a Lake of the Ozarks resort with a pool, be sure to have everyone bring their suits. This could be the last weekend to take a dip in that water, as summer is coming to a close. For those who don't like to swim, there's plenty of deck space at Summerset Inn, perfect for soaking up the sun and socializing.

5. Grab Some Decorations.

You don't need to go all out, but grab some patriotic decorations. From red, white and blue table cloths to streamers and balloons, you can easily find a few things to spice up the occasion. Take it one step further and ask your guests to wear their best patriotic attire. It'll be fun to see what everyone comes up with!

Summerset Inn Resort is here to help you make this Labor Day Weekend a great one! Our lakeside pool area is the perfect place to cool off on a warm summer day, and the BBQ area offers a great place to gather with family and friends to celebrate another great summer coming to a close. We hope you have a wonderful holiday weekend and can't wait to see you again at our waterfront resort at the Lake of the Ozarks!
